Making Camp Affordable

URJ Eisner and Crane Lake Camps are committed to working in conjunction with families and their home congregations to make a summer camp experience possible for URJ families in need of assistance. We strive to ensure that no child is denied a Jewish summer experience with us!

A child must be enrolled in camp for the scholarship application to be processed and considered, and scholarship assistance is provided as a credit on camp fees. The amount of scholarship awarded to each family will be based on the number of applicants and level of need. Scholarship applications are available upon request from Eisner & Crane Lake’s Winter Office and are due in mid-February.

When considering applying for a need-based camp scholarship, we also encourage you to explore all scholarship options. One source of scholarship funds can be your local synagogue. Many synagogues provide assistance on behalf of their member families for camp programs. Financial assistance may also be available from the Jewish Federation in your community. Many local Federations sponsor needs-based camp scholarships.

To request a Scholarship Application, please email our office or call 201-722-0400.

Additional Fees, Discounts, and Scholarships

One Happy Camper Grants

If it is your camper’s first time at overnight camp, you may qualify for a One Happy Camper Grant of up to $1000! Please go to onehappycamper.org to find out more information and to apply.

Consecration Certificate Program

Participating URJ congregations are eligible to join Eisner & Crane Lake’s Consecration Certificate Program and receive certificates redeemable for a $200 discount off a child’s first-time overnight camp experience. These certificates are distributed during the congregations’ Consecration Ceremonies each year. For more information, speak with your congregation’s Rabbi or Educator.

Sibling Discount

The first camper in the family pays full tuition, the second camper receives $300 off, third and additional campers each receive $500 off.

Credit Card Fees

Deposits and electronic payments may be made by E-check, Debit Card (all without surcharge) and Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard and Discover). A non-refundable 2.75% credit card processing fee will be added to all credit card transactions. To avoid credit card processing fees, families can choose E-check or pay with a debit card. E-Check will allow tuition to be deducted directly from either your checking or savings account.

Non-URJ Surcharge

Families who are not members of a URJ Congregation will be assessed a surcharge. The fee is $300 per child with a maximum of $500 for families with multiple children. The Online System does not automatically adjust for the non-URJ member fee family maximum of $500. This will be done manually after your registration has been approved.
